What's a Mandu/Mandoo?"Han" means Korean i.e. Hanguk which means Nation of Korea. Mandoo (or mandu) is the Korean word for dumpling. So "hanmandoo" literally means Korean dumplings. These dumplings from the 14th century are slightly different than the wontons of China or gyoza of Japan. They are normally steamed or boiled in soups and made with pork, leek (cousin of the green onion), and sometimes kimchi. Our Story

Our founder, Ms. Nam, has not only created new sensations for our customers, but a foundation for philanthropy. From her humble beginnings driving trucks around Seoul and nearby towns for local restaurant deliveries, to the opening of their first handmade mandu factory, to receiving national recognition in Korea as a socially conscious company, Ms. Nam and her company Hanmandoo has become a respected leader in all things mandu.

Although it was difficult to stand out amidst stiff competition from companies and corporations much bigger than us, we focused on quality, taste, and innovation in a variety of recipes, which has pushed us to this point of being Korea's #1 rated dumpling company in terms of taste and customer satisfaction. Because of the new trends of fast and processed food, it is difficult to trust quality in food these days. That's why we are committed to providing food that nourishes and nurtures anyone and everyone that tries it. Filled with sincerity and love, we believe in the importance of understanding the connection between physical and mental health. Our safety certifications (HACCP and ISO) ensure that our processes produce only safe products for our consumers. With our R&D department, we are constantly striving for even more delicious and healthier dumpling recipes.

At Hanmandoo, we believe that any responsible organization must give back to the communities that helped it grow. We have been bestowed a reputation throughout Korea as a company that helps the underprivileged such as orphans and the homeless in addition to funding missions to such as North Korea.
